Features:esProc vs. Database

esProc has neither metadata mechanism, nor SQL-like transparent syntax. It only stores some operational data for better throughput and play a role of database in some extent, but it can not replace database.

esProc is good complementary to database, as it can base on database and other data storage mediums to implement complex procedure computing similar to stored procedure.

esProc can scale out on commodity PCs, while database can hardly achieve it without high end machines.

Comparing with database, esProc is more open to process non-structured data in cooperation with external programs. Database can only process structured data due to its closeness.
